We are looking for bright and energetic individuals to fill our SAS Data Analyst position. This position involves the programming and analysis of healthcare data with an emphasis on clinical measures and medical cost reporting. This position is responsible for the following functions:
- Coding health care guidelines including HEDIS, AHRQ, and more complex guidelines built internally with medical staff
- Creating the Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) and warehousing approach to support hospital reporting needs
- Responsible for automating the ETL process and incorporating it into the Business Process Management (BPM) workflows with our Systems team
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain data preparation and validation routines to support the reporting of clinical metrics and cost information
- Automate data load and data analysis programs with a goal of improving efficiencies across clients
- Select, recommend and apply appropriate analytic and statistical methodologies and techniques to healthcare data
- Develop innovative and/or customized templates and report formats
- Interfaces with clients and vendors on ETL processes and maps data from disparate sources into data warehouse formats
- Process and analyze data to support clinical and financial initiatives for managed care organizations
- Performs ad-hoc analysis for the client
Education:
- BS or BA in Health Care, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or an advanced degree in a comparable program with a quantitative emphasis
- 2+ years of work experience using SAS, SAS/Macros and SQL; general SAS programmer with some health care background
- Skill set is SAS programming and history with guidelines
- Experience with healthcare data and large databases
- Competency in data manipulation and analysis
- Excellent PC and database skills
