Position Description
The Consulting Manager will have significant responsibility for project management, client management, project work products, client deliverables and project results. The Consulting Manager is responsible for working with client executive to understand project goals and coordinate all activities to meet project timelines. The Consulting Manager is also responsible for providing necessary direction for consultants and analysts on the project team.
Responsibilities are broadly defined and require strong analytical, creative, and interpersonal skills. Project Management experience is required, including experience creating work plans and budgets, managing to budgets and delivering all project activities and work products on time and on budget. The Consulting Manager must have excellent organizational skills, ability to manage priorities of multiple projects and ability to communicate project status and need for any additional resources or direction to ensure timely completion of work. Must also have a strong quality focus to produce client-ready work products. The ideal candidate is highly motivated and able to work independently, as well as in a team environment.
Essential Functions
- Lead team efforts in data gathering and analysis, data interpretation, and formulating conclusions and recommendations.
- Coordinate daily fieldwork and project team activities
- Monitor and manage client expectations around project activities and deliverables
- Prepare reports and presentations
- Deliver client presentations
- Manage priorities of multiple projects and ensure timely completion of work.
- Assist in developing work plans and budgets
- Participate in business development and sales efforts
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education: Bachelors degree in business or health-related field required. A Master’s degree in Business Administration, in Health or Hospital Administration or Public Health or related discipline is highly preferred.
Experience: 7+ years experience in hospital, physician practice or other healthcare field required; consulting experience strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of general healthcare market trends and issues is required. Understand personal and team roles; contribute to a positive working environment by building solid relationships with team members; proactively seek guidance, clarification and feedback.
Skills: Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills. Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook. Ability to work well with individuals at all levels of an organization
Travel is required (up to 50%).
